Nino was born in 1986 and he hasn’t grown even a centimetre since he was 2. He currently resides in the capital city of Bogota and suffers from cataract. He also can’t write properly due to stubby fingers. This is why he couldn’t complete his studies and dropped out when he was 13. He now works as a part-time dancer in Bogota. The reason behind his short height is not known.

  • Bridgette Jordan: Bridgette Jordan is the shortest cheerleader in the world. She is also a former Guinness World Record holder. Bridgette was born in 1989 and is just 27 inches tall. The reason behind her short height is Majewski osteoplastic primordial dwarfism type II, a rare form of primordial dwarfism that affects one in every three million people. She is still active in dancing and cheerleading. She is a student at Kaskaskia College in Illinois and her brother Brad is also just 38 inches tall.

  • Lin Yu-Chih: Lin Yu-Chih once held the record for being the shortest man on the planet. He is a resident of Taiwan and is just 26.6 inches tall. Yu-Chih remains on his wheelchair all the time due to his brittle bones. Yu-Chih suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta. Due to the medical condition, Yu-Chih has had very limited bone growth. Yu-Chih is a famous writer and activist who came to know about his condition when he was 20.

  • Khagendra Thapa Magar: The world’s fifth shortest person and third shortest man, Khagendra is a resident of Nepal. He is just 26 inches tall and suffers from primordial dwarfism. He is popularly known as “Little Buddha” and was declared the shortest man in the world on October 14, 2010. However, he lost his title to Junrey Balawing on June 12, 2011. As per medical experts, Thapa has a body of a three-year-old and a mind of one-year-old. 

  • Madge Bester: Madge is the second shortest woman on the planet. She was born in 1963 and is just 25.5 inches tall. Madge is a resident of South Africa. She is also the shortest non-mobile woman in the world. She depends on her wheelchair for movement and suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta. She is also a leading activist who works for the rights of disabled people. 

  • Jyoti Amge: Jyoti Amge is an Indian resident who is also the shortest woman on the planet. She is just 24.7 inches tall and her weight is as little as that of a small stone. She was born in Nagpur in 1993. Jyoti suffers from a condition called achondroplasia. She stopped growing soon after her first birthday. She has really weak and brittle bones. She aspires to become a Hollywood actress and has featured in the Bollywood movie Pan Supari in 2012. 

  • Junrey Balawing: Junrey Balawing is a resident of the Philippines whose height is just 23.6 inches tall. He is the second shortest person in the world. Junrey was the shortest person on the planet until he lost the title to Chandra Bahadur Dangi in 2012. Junrey’s height growth stopped just a few months after his birth. He weighs just 11 pounds and can’t stand without taking the support. He needs his parents’ help all the time and the exact reason behind his condition is not known.

  • Chandra Bahadur Dangi: Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal is the shortest person on the planet at 21.5 inches. He was born in 1939 and suffers from primordial dwarfism. Due to his short height, Dangi’s limbs and organs are proportionate to the rest of his body. He resides in a remote Nepali village and wasn’t treated by any doctor before he was declared the shortest person. Upon being named the shortest person on the planet, he was examined by doctors who were shocked to find that he suffered from no medical conditions.
