One such good news is watching our favourite celebrities dressed in mesmerizing wedding attires get hitched. There’s a different kind of following that Bollywood actors and cricketers enjoy in a country like India. We are emotional people and connect well with anything good that happens in the lives of people we know, adore and idealise. We got tens of such moments when some of our favourite celebrities got married amid the pandemic between 2020 and 2021. From Yuzvendra Chahal to Neha Kakkar, social media exploded with wishes for celebrity couples who became each other amid the challenging times of this pandemic. Gauhar Khan

Famous TV and film actress and dancer Gauhar Khan married her long-time boyfriend actor-dancer Zaid Darbar on December 25. Pictures of the stunning couple from the wedding ceremony soon got viral and fans celebrated it by trending several hashtags related to the couple. The marriage was followed by a grand reception that was attended by several big names of the industry.

Yuzvendra Chahal 

Yuzvendra Chahal was one of the most eligible bachelors of the Indian cricket team until he got to meet dancer, Dhanashree Verma. The two got engaged in September 2020, right ahead of the IPL which was followed by a small wedding ceremony in Gurugram on December 22. Yuzu and Dhanashree make a cute and adorable couple together. The two are often seen playing pranks on each other on social media. They are also popular among the fans for their online conversations. 

Neha Kakkar 

We all have seen singer Neha Kakkar shedding tears for contestants on Indian Idol. But October 24 was one such rare occasion when Neha found it hard to control herself from blushing and laughing. It was the day the singer got married to the love of her life and singer Rohanpreet Singh. Such is the fanbase of Neha Kakkar that #NehuDaVyah trended on social media for several days after the adorable couple’s wedding.

Kajal Agarwal 

The diva from the Telugu and Tamil film industry broke millions of hearts across the country when she posted her pictures where she was seen all dolled up with her businessman husband Gautam Kitchlu. The two got married in a private ceremony in Mumbai on October 30. What followed was a flood of pictures from the wedding ceremony and congratulatory wishes.

Rana Daggubati 

Next on the list is our very own BhallalDeo from Baahubali. The character was played by tall, dark, and handsome Rana Daggubati who is known for his acting skills and grey characters. But the actor’s heart seemingly skipped a beat when he saw Miheeka Bajaj. The actor dated the designer for several years before marrying her on August 8 in Hyderabad’s Ramanaidu Studios. The actor shared a picture with his wife on Instagram after the wedding. 

Sana Khan

This was probably the most shocking celebrity wedding in recent times. What came as a shock to the entire industry and fans was Sana’s announcement of the end of her short career in the Bollywood industry. The actress quit showbiz to “serve humanity and follow the orders of Islam”. When fans were recovering from this shock, she gave them another shock by marrying Surat-based businessman Anas Sayed on November 20.

Dia Mirza 

This celebrity wedding was a little different from all other weddings on the list. Our crush from RHTDM days, Diya got married to businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai. Dia wore a traditional red saree for the wedding ceremony and the picture was all over the internet. This is Dia’s second marriage. She was previously married to film producer and writer Sahil Sangha for 11 years before parting ways with him in 2019. This was also the second marriage for Diya’s husband Vaibhav. Another unique thing about the marriage was that the mantras for the marriage were recited by a female priest.

Jasprit Bumrah

The newest entrant on the list is India’s ace pacer and yorker specialist Jasprit Bumrah. After making a mess of the wickets and toes of top batsmen around the world, Boom Boom got stumped after he met sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan. After continuing their secret love affair for some time, the two got hitched in a private wedding ceremony in Goa with the blessings of family members and close friends. 

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar

On June 4, actor Yami Gautam and filmmaker Aditya Dhar married in a private ceremony in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and chose a low-key celebration. Gautam chose her mother’s sari for her bridal ensemble, a Pahadi Nath and a dupatta from her grandmother. Gautam also revealed in one of the interviews that their love story began during Uri’s promotions.

Rhea Kapoor and Karan Boolani

On August 14, Rhea Kapoor married her long-term boyfriend Karan Boolani at her father Anil Kapoor’s home in Mumbai’s Juhu. Only close friends and family attended this private event. On July 16, actor Disha Parmar married singer Rahul Vaidya in Mumbai. The grand celebrations, which lasted a few days, culminated in a star-studded reception attended by Mika Singh, Arjun Bijlani, and Shweta Tiwari.

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa Paul

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa Paul, an actor-couple, married on November 15 in Chandigarh after 11 years of dating. The traditional ceremony, which began with a white-themed engagement, was filled with love and laughter.
