There’s only one cooler thing here than fantastic food, and that’s more of it.
There are many monster-sized eating challenges in Australia, but not all of them are worth your time or money.
Some restaurants offer them only for the fun and excitement of it, and if you can finish the dish within an allotted time, others can give you a draw.
The laws vary from restaurant to restaurant, but generally, you get excluded by sharing with someone, leaving the table while the challenge, or rehashing.
Here are ten of the most remarkable and toughest food eating challenges in Australia that you can bury your head into.
At Ribs and Rumps, QLD and NSW, the Man Vs. Meat challenge
This challenge requires you to consume 1.2 kg of prime rib, 1 kg of beef ribs, 800 g of fries, 200 g of onion rings, a cheesy casserole of garlic bread, a garden salad, and 240 ml of sauce.
To get the entire meal for free, you have 30 minutes to complete it, plus a free specialized steak knife for Ribs and Rumps and a snapshot on the wall of fame and their social media accounts.
You will be placed on the loser’s wall if you can’t finish it, and you will have to pay $99.95.
The Hahndorf Inn, SA The 1m bratwurst
This colossal German sausage served with sauerkraut, pork juice, seeded mustard, and dijon mustard in a rare long hotdog sandwich.
It will set you back $45.50, so you won’t win much if you can finish it, except for a more enormous belly.
SSS BBQ Barn, NSW The Big Shank Challenge
You’ll need to choose an entrée to eat to win this competition, then eat a 2.4 kg beef shank and dessert all in one sit, breaking the existing 7-minute record (just for the beef shank).
You’ll win a cap, a t-shirt, and your title on the honor roll if you can do it.
It costs $54, and if you can finish it all, just the dessert is free. To make sure they have one for you, contact them to book.
1kg of schnitzel from Schnitzelhaus, Australia, NSW
The competition entails eating a 1 kg mammoth schnitzel with your option of chips and sauce, as well as 1 litre of tap beer or soft drink. That’s going to set you back $59.
There’s a running record of just under an hour.
Beat that, and it’s free for your schnitzel.
You’ll get free dessert and schnapps, a schnitzel championship t-shirt, and a picture posted on their website and Facebook (if you can fit them in).
Made sure that your phone in advance and let them know that you are coming.
The 2kg burger for “heart attack” from Railway Pub, WA
In a small part of Western Australia, this is a reasonably simple pub. Still, it would be difficult to find a burger this big anywhere in Australia.
Three burger patties, a beef schnitzel, 6 cheese slices, 3 streaky bacon, three scrambled eggs, 3 hash browns, 2 tomatoes, and a salad are included in the $45 burger.
For anyone who can eat it in less than 35 minutes, the burger is free.

Chicken wing challenge of Carolina Reaper from Chuck Wagon 175, SA
In Australia, the owners claim these as the spiciest wings. 6 of these too spicy, hot-sauce filled deep-fried chicken wings are just 15 minutes away from you.
If you do, you’ll get a wrist band for the winner and put it on the wall of fame.
The hot sauce in which the wings are covered is a special blend by chefs Josh and Mike, who are using the Caroline Reaper chili, which has been registered at 2.2 million Scoville heat units and is regarded as the hottest chili. They cost just $9 but don’t let that indicate how simple the challenge will be.
Tabasco sauce is valued at just 2,500-5,000 Scoville heat, for reference.
The 1kg Kenilworth Country Bakery doughnut, QLDD
A doughnut is what they call it, but it’s almost of a fluffy eclair. As your stuffing, pick Nutella, jelly, or custard.
You will need to let them know the day before if you’re keen to take it on, so they can train the best for you.
It costs $20, so it’s free to mix it all down in 10 minutes, plus you get a plaque of the bakery.

Nik’s BBQ on The Lake at Mawson Lakes, just north of Adelaide, is doling up a gargantuan slab of rump steak at some other Prehistoric meal.
The steak is appreciated by the most classic pub sides, chips, and lettuce, and your sauce preference, weighing in at 2 kg. It’s yours, free (as is the food coma you’re expected to experience) if you manage to finish it off in an hour.
