RAPIDX trains to undertake experimental runs from Sahibabad to Duhai depot, covering 17 km in 12 min. A NEW DELHI: RAPIDX trains are now running at 160 mph, covering the 17 km priority stretch from Sahibabad to Duhai depot in 12 minutes.
The trains are now being operated on the mainline in the same manner as they would after being commissioned to ensure that RAPIDX operations go without hiccups once the priority segment is operational. According to a representative of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which is carrying out the project, the RAPIDX train services now start at the Duhai depot at 6 am and run until 11 pm.

In 2025, the full 82-km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor is expected to be made accessible to the general public. The trains would run every 5 to 10 minutes and will take 60 minutes to go from Delhi to Meerut. However, it is anticipated that the 17-km priority segment, which has five stops (Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot), would soon be open to the general public.
Locals are ecstatic since RAPIDX is the quickest regional transport option available. The students turn their heads during the assembly to gaze at the RAPIDX trains since the Duhai station is visible from our school, according to Nandini Shekhar, principal of DPS at the HRIT Campus. They can’t wait to board the train. The RAPIDX system is a reflection of local modernization. Class V student and Duhai resident Siddhi Srivastava said she could see the new trains from her home and school and wanted to board one soon.

Delhi-Panipat and Delhi-Gurgaon-SNB-Alwar are the other two RAPIDX routes. The initial phase of the first project, which will be built in three sections, would cover a 107-km span from Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan to the SNB Urban Complex (Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror). The line will be expanded from SNB to Sotanala (33.3km) in the second stage, passing through Shahjahanpur, Neemrana, and Behror. The third stage has been suggested as the 58-km SNB-Alwar expansion.
The city will be connected to Murthal, Gannaur, Samalkha, and Panipat in Haryana via the Delhi-Panipat corridors, which extend northwest from the capital.
