After lasting 33 years without getting her hair trimmed in the back, a lady now has a mullet that is longer than she is tall. A new Guinness World Record is set by the hairdo.
A lady from the United States broke the record for the longest mullet on a woman by growing one that was longer than she was.
Since 1990, Tennessee native Tami Manis hasn’t had her hair trimmed in the back. It has expanded to 172.72 cm (5 feet 8 inches) in the 33 years since then.
The 58-year-old was motivated to begin growing her hair in the 1980s after watching Til Tuesday’s video for “Voices Carry.”
“The [singer] had a rattail, and I wanted one of those,” she remarked. In 1989, a barber persuaded her to remove the rattail, but she soon regretted it. Her hair’s “official” birthdate is February 9, 1990, thus she decided to re-grow it.
“I’ve been blessed that my hair grows, and now it’s the world’s longest mullet, and I’m very happy with it,” she added.
Patrick Swayze, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mario Lopez, and other celebrities had the mullet haircut that was popular in the 1980s and early 1990s. Manis revealed that she last got a haircut in 1989 and that she instantly regretted it. Since then, shears have not been used on her hair. Manis’s current global championship is not her first victory; in the 2022 US Mullet, she came in second.
She claimed that most people are unaware of how lengthy the back is until she turns around.
Due to its length, Ms. Manis usually wears her hair in braids, using a leave-in conditioner to make painting simpler.

She described it as “pretty amazing” that she had entered the Guinness World Records. At the 2022 US Mullet Championships, Ms. Manis participated in the “Femullet” class and came in second.
The US Mullet Championships, which attracts more than 1,000 applications yearly, is the biggest contest of its sort in the whole globe.
