In retrospect, the 1990s seem like a glorious age thanks to the Game Boy! Spice Girls! Parent Trap! The final generation without a cell phone! The ’90s summer were known for their scrunchies, acid-wash jeans, tube tops, and Capri trousers.
It was a wonderful time, made even better by the A-list celebrities and supermodels from the 1990s who swaggered around in their finest on the red carpet and in public, confident that they would never have to look back on these legendary looks and feel anything but pride.
Here are some of the 90s summer trends that are still alive
Claw clips
The common banana clip was used in the 1980s, whereas the claw clip was preferred in the decade that followed. These days, models Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and supermodel Bella Hadid all like useful items, especially for summer days when you want to tie your hair up.
Cycling shorts
Princess Diana had a lot of iconic formal fashion moments, so neon cycling shorts might not be what comes to mind when one thinks of her sense of style. She was excellent at casual attire too, as seen by her ability to pull off graphic oversized sweatshirts and vividly colored cycling shorts.
Cycling shorts aren’t exactly renowned for being the most forgiving type of clothing, so if you’re a little hesitant about wearing this combination, we suggest choosing a sweatshirt with an extremely roomy fit so that the ribbed hem touches your mid-thigh.
Cargo pants
When it comes to cargo pants, everyone wants a piece of the action. One of the most prominent supporters of the look, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, dazzled us by pairing her mules with a light brown pair. Hailey Bieber is a supporter and once stole her husband Justin’s low-waisted, baggy Balenciaga trousers to wear.
Sheer Dresses
Recall the iconic sheer dress worn by Kate Moss in 1993. It will undoubtedly go down in the history of fashion, but it has no plans to stop anytime soon. For his Fall 2020 collection, Brandon Maxwell revived the storied style during NYFW in February.
Get excited because 2023’s version of the trend is amazing and includes neutrals and striking colors.
Platform flipflops
The 90s footwear platform flip flops are currently in style, and Kendall Jenner is wearing them. Despite missing out on the trend’s original iteration, the model is making up for lost time now, and we couldn’t be happier. If you want to add the trend to your collection of shoes, browse for Coperni and Balenciaga designs.

Is 1990s fashion still popular today?
