Canada is home to some of the world’s greatest universities. According to Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings 2022, 32 Canadian universities are ranked among the finest in the world.
With seven universities in the top 200, Canada provides plenty of options for international students to receive a world-class education.
Canada can also offer lower college rates, simpler application processes, and more options for permanent residency after graduation when compared to the United States. 
The University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia rank very high in terms of research impact, indicating that both schools create high-quality academic work that is widely acknowledged.
Many Canadian institutions are known for promoting a global perspective by recruiting international students and staff and supporting international collaborations, therefore any university in Canada will have a big population of international employees and students
University of Toronto
The University of Toronto is the only Canadian institution in the top 20 in the World University Rankings 2022. Five Canadian prime ministers and writers Michael Ondaatje and Margaret Atwood are among the notable graduates. Ten Nobel laureates have attended the university.
The University of Toronto is organized as a collegiate system, similar to prominent universities in the United Kingdom such as Oxford and Cambridge. Each of the seven colleges has its own history and customs. 
International students make up about 25% of the university’s student body.

University of British Columbia
At the University of British Columbia, around 33% of students are international.
The university is home to eight Nobel laureates, 71 Rhodes scholars, and 65 Olympic medalists. The University of British Columbia includes two campuses: one of those in Vancouver and another in the Okanagan Valley.

On the Vancouver campus, there are 12 faculties, while there are seven more on the Okanagan campus. The university offers a unique dual undergraduate program in collaboration with Sciences Po in Paris.
Among the faculties of the university are applied science, education, music, nursing, the arts, law, and medicine. The Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award is available to candidates from war-torn countries.
Three Canadian prime ministers attended UBC, notably current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who obtained a Bachelor of Education degree.
McGill University
McGill University has students from over 150 countries.
The university was established in 1821.
The main campus is located in downtown Montreal at the foot of Mount Royal. Students in their first year have the option of living on the park-like campus. McGill University established the nation’s first faculty of medicine in 1829, and the university continues to rank highly in world rankings for clinical topics to this day. 
More than 300-degree programs are available to more than 31,000 students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the university. Students can take advantage of a variety of programs, including the Career Planning Service, the Office for Students with Disabilities, and Academic Advising.
Singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen & actor William Shatner are also McGill graduates. Furthermore, the university educates the greatest number of Rhodes students of any Canadian institution.
McMaster University
McMaster University is in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Students and instructors come from more than 90 different countries. The university is named after William McMaster, a famous Canadian senator and banker who contributed C$900,000 to the establishment’s establishment.
McMaster University has a world-renowned medical school, as well as faculties of engineering, commerce, humanities, social sciences, and science. The institute prioritizes research that addresses some of society’s most serious issues, particularly in the field of health sciences.
The university has 70 foreign exchange agreements with universities all across the world.
The institution is ranked in the top 50 of the world’s most international universities by THE Ranking.
University of Montreal
The primary teaching language at the University of Montreal is French. International students account for one-quarter of all students at the university.
With over 36,000 students enrolled, the University of Montreal is the country’s second-largest university in terms of student population. The university maintains a students’ union that represents both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as three fraternities and sororities. 
Both undergraduate and postgraduate students can live on campus full-time.
University sports are popular; the Carabins play badminton, Canadian football, and hockey, among other sports.
Among its alumni are former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and ten Quebec premiers.
