On Tuesday, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti emphasized the tight cooperation between his nation and India in several areas, such as technology, trade, the environment, and space. He claimed that President Joe Biden told him that India is the most significant nation to him in the entire world.
In his keynote speech at the Indiaspora G20 meeting, Garcetti noted that six percent of American taxpayers are Indian Americans.
“When he invited me to come here to serve, he (President Joe Biden) stated, “This is the most important country in the world to me, which I think no American president has ever said in the history of our two countries,” according to what he (President Biden) told me.
According to the envoy, Indian Americans make up about 6% of US taxpayers, according to news agency ANI.
Before Biden’s trip to India next month, when he will attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Delhi, Garcetti made his comments.
The envoy emphasized that “not even the sky is the limit” and said that the two nations worked cooperatively in the space industry. India and the US are two “powerful forces” in the world, according to him.
We used to say the sky is the limit when it comes to everything from technology to trade, the environment to women’s empowerment, and small companies to outer space. But now that we are cooperating in space, nothing is impossible.
The US and India are a formidable force to advance this world from the ocean floor to the heavens, according to Garcetti.
The envoy described his “dream” of living in India, saying that he had always wanted to visit the nation, settle in Bodh Gaya, and enroll in a Buddhist studies program, according to ANI.
But politics obstructed the process. I committed to serve if I was elected to the student council when I ran for office. So, I suppose my dream of visiting India kind of vanished. But the universe has a peculiar way of tying people and dreams together, and now I find myself in this place, experiencing that dream,” he remarked.
Garcetti has finished his first 100 days in office as US Ambassador to India. He shared a video on his X account that had snippets of his travels to different Indian states, where he met with political figures and regular citizens.

The envoy expressed excitement about his plans to strengthen the US-India relationship in a tweet.
Celebrating 100 amazing days in India as the US Ambassador! I have been to 12 Indian states and UTs within my first 100 days, had more than 200 delectable Indian meals, and made wonderful friends. I appreciate your deep friendship and gracious welcome. The ambassador said on X on August 18 that he was “excited to improve US-India relations during my tenure.”
