To encourage young people to pursue careers in forestry and the environment, the Delhi government started an internship program on Sunday. The program’s objective is to offer young people brief exposure and an understanding of how the various divisions of the Department of Forests and Wildlife, GNCTD, operate.
This website, internship.eforest.delhi.gov.in, was launched at the fourth Van Mahotsav celebration held at Delhi University’s Polo Ground.
Only students (aged 18 and over) who are enrolled in recognized schools, colleges, and universities are eligible for the training. Those having a crystal-clear Statement of Purpose for the program will receive preference.
Candidates should be aware that only online applications will be accepted, and that they must be submitted at least three months before the intended start date, clearly stating the period for which an internship is required. To apply for an internship, applicants must submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) that is no longer than 1000 words.
The official website said that applications from candidates who have already completed the internship program in this Department will not be considered.
The interns will also need to prepare a paper or detailed summary of the work they did on management-related topics or problems, as well as the relevance of their work to the department. A “Certificate” and a grade based on the intern’s performance will be given to the interns upon successful completion of the internship. Candidates should be aware that there will be no stipend provided.
