Double, double toil and difficulty; cauldron bubbles and fire burns! Witches are a common theme in movies, from old black-and-white masterpieces to contemporary arthouse fare. It’s time to decide on a movie to watch while eating dinner after we’ve gathered up all the nosy kids we could locate and brought the caldron to a roaring boil. The Witch
Starring in The Witch are Kate Dickie, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Ralph Ineson. Robert Eggers wrote the script and produced the film. A24 handled the movie’s distribution. A family starts to homestead a new existence at the edge of the woods after being expelled from their town. The extremely religious family thinks they are being pursued by a witch after a string of strange incidents and disappearances.
Gretel & Hansel
Sophia Lillis, Sam Leakey, and Alice Krige appear in Gretel & Hansel. Rob Hayes wrote the screenplay, and Oz Perkins is the director. It is based on The Brothers Grimm’s timeless folk tale Hansel and Gretel. Everyone is familiar with the tale. When two siblings venture into the woods, they find a house with delicious food and a gracious elderly lady. But nothing is exactly as it seems. The traditional children’s tale is given a contemporary dark fantastical twist in Gretel & Hansel.
Suspiria
Dario Argento directed and wrote the 1977 film Suspiria with Daria Nicolodi. Luca Guadagnino is the director and David Kajganich is the writer of the 2018 film Suspiria. The world-famous dance company that Suspiria tracks will engulf the artistic director, a driven young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. A few people will give in to the horror.
Both movies are incredible works of art, but for very different purposes. Argento’s Suspiria is the place to go for neon-drenched, Giallo-inspired delight. The finest choice for muted earth tones and brutal violence is Guadagnino’s Suspiria. Both versions are excellent and can be praised for a variety of reasons. Watching the original over the update is advised!
The Craft
Andrew Fleming is the director of The Craft, which he also co-wrote with Peter Filardi. Neve Campbell, Fairuza Balk, and Robin Tunney are the movie’s main actors. The story follows a new student at a Catholic prep high school who befriends a group of outcast adolescent witches. They quickly create different spells and curses against those who enrage them. The Craft is what we’d be here for if the Mean Girls characters had wicked abilities.
Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark
The script for Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark was written by Dan Hageman, Kevin Hageman, and Guillermo del Toro and was directed by André bridal. Gabriel Rush, Michael Garza, and Zoe Margaret Colletti are the movie’s main actors. Halloween 1968 is the setting for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Stella and her two companions encounter the enigmatic Ramón while exploring a creepy notebook. The sorceress in charge of the situation is at the heart of this terrifying children’s book adaptation. Yet why?
Rosemary’s Baby
Roman Polanski is the author and director of Rosemary’s Baby. Ruth Gordon, John Cassavetes, and Mia Farrow all appear in the movie. A young couple attempting to have a child is followed in the movie as they move into an old, opulent apartment block on Central Park West but discover that their new neighbors are odd. The Satanic Panic movie was at its best in this instance. I won’t give anything away if you haven’t seen this cult classic of terror, but you must.

The Pale Door
Aaron B. Koontz is the director of The Pale Door, which was penned by him, Cameron Burns, and Keith Lansdale. James Landry Herbert, Melora Walters, and Zachary Knighton appear in the movie. Two siblings heading a group of cowboys must survive the night in a ghost town that is home to a coven of witches in the movie, which is about a train robbery gone wrong.
