Tudum is a free virtual event that features over 100 fan-favorite Netflix programs, films, and specials from around the world.
Tudum: A Global Fan Event, sponsored by Netflix on September 24, is an exciting day of exclusive news, never-before-seen videos, trailers, and first glimpses, as well as conversations with Netflix’s biggest stars and producers. The free virtual event is more of a Netflix fandom celebration, and this year, Netflix offered information on over 100 fan-favorite shows, films, and specials from around the world.
Netflix released several interesting films and shows in India, and these are the ones you should definitely keep an eye on:
FILMS
“Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga”
‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga,’ directed by Ajay Singh and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, starring Yami Gautam, Sunny Kaushal, and Sharad Kelkar. The plot revolves around an air hostess and her businessman beau who are on a mission to steal jewels to escape the clutches of a loan shark. The heist, however, goes badly wrong when the plane transporting the diamonds becomes involved in a hostage scenario.
‘Kathal’
The film ‘Kathal,’ directed by Yashowardhan Mishra, stars Sanya Malhotra, Anant Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, and Neha Saraf. When a local politician’s cherished jackfruits (Kathals) go missing, it becomes a peculiar case that falls into the hands of Sanya, a young and earnest police officer. The film is a tiny town dramedy with a lot of heart, based on true-ish events.
‘Khufiya’
Vishal Bhardwaj produced and directed ‘Khufiya,’ which stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ashish Vidyarthi. Based on the novel ‘Escape to Nowhere,’ which was inspired by real-life events and written by ex-R&AW Chief of Counter Espionage Unit – Amar Bhushan, ‘Khufiya’ takes you on a journey of an R&AW operative-Krishna Mehra, who is assigned a crucial mission that forces her to juggle her dual identities as a spy and a lover.
During the TUDUM event, the developers of ‘Khufiya’ stated, “Khufiya is a spy thriller about the internal happenings at the Research and Analysis wing and a story about one agent getting to the bottom of things while navigating her personal and professional identities.”
‘Monica, O My Darling’
‘Monica, O My Darling,’ directed by Vasan Bala, stars Rajkummar Rao, Huma S. Qureshi, Radhika Apte, and Sikandar Kher. The film is a neo-noir tribute to films about the flawless plan that led to the perfect mayhem in the lives of those who devised it.
“Ek Zindagi is a foot-thumping vintage number that will have everyone eager to shake a leg,” claimed the ‘Monica, O My Darling’ crew. “With this cabaret song as a precursor to what is to come, we wanted to give fans a sneak peek into the film.”
‘Qala’
Triptii Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, and Amit Sial star in the film, which is produced by Karnesh Sharma and directed by Anvitaa Dutt. Babil Khan, Irrfan Khan’s son, makes his film debut. ‘Qala,’ set in the 1930s and late 1940s, tells the story of the titular teenage playback singer. It’s about her sad past and how it catches up with her, forcing her to disintegrate at the pinnacle of her hard-earned achievement.
“We are incredibly happy to be premiering this film on Netflix,” Team ‘Qala’ said of having the video shown at Tudum. It’s a story surrounded by music. It hums in sorrow and sings in agony.”
SERIES:
‘CAT’
The series, directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, Rupinder Chahal, and Jimmy Singh, stars Randeep Hooda in the major role. To save the life of his drug peddling brother, Gurnam, played by Randeep, is forced by the cops to become an informant once more, as he did during the 1990s insurgency as CAT, but this time to Snitch on the deadly Punjab Drug Mafia, forcing him to confront his dark history.

‘Class’
‘Class,’ a film starring Gurfateh Pirzada, Anjali Sivaraman, Ayesha Kanga, Chayan Chopra, Chintan Rach, Cyaawal Singh, and Madhyama Segal, is about what happens when three students from the wrong side of the tracks enroll in a wealthy international Delhi school. Sparks fly, dynamics are tested, and a power struggle ensues, shaking up the glittering lives of the elite.
‘Gulaabs & Guns’
‘Guns & Gulaabs,’ directed by Raj & DK, stars Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, TJ Bhanu, and Gulshan Devaiah. Guns & Gulaabs is a story about love and innocence set in a criminal society, inspired by the world’s misfits. The series is planned to merge the romance of the 1990s with a crime thriller while seamlessly intertwining humor.
‘Nayanthara: More Than A Fairy Tale’
Nayanthara recently married ace filmmaker Vignesh Shivan in a fairytale wedding. As they prepare to embark on this new chapter in their lives, ‘Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale’ provides an inside look at their lives, marriage, and beyond.
‘Rana Naidu’
The much-anticipated show, starring Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh Daggubati, Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra, and Ashish Vidyarthi, is set in Bombay, where glamour meets dirt. Rana Naidu does the dirty work for the city’s top power players, making celebrities, great athletes, and business moguls’ troubles disappear. When his father Venky is abruptly released from prison, a chain of events occurs that shakes the Naidu family to its core.
‘Scoop’
Karishma Tanna, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Harman Baweja, Shikha Talsania, and others star in the show, which is directed by Hansal Mehta. It is based on Jigna Vora’s book ‘Behind Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison.’ ‘Scoop’ is a character drama that follows Jagruti Pathak, an ambitious crime journalist, on her quest. Her world is turned upside down when she is charged with the heinous murder of a colleague journalist, Jaideb Sen, and ends up in a prison cell with individuals she formerly covered. Among those charged are a famed sharpshooter, a shady bookie, and the infamous Chhota Rajan!
‘Soup’
The show, directed by Abhishek Chaubey, stars Manoj Bajpayee, Konkona Sensharma, Nasser, and Sayaji Shinde. Swathi Shetty, a talentless chef, devises a grand plan to replace her husband Prabhakar with her lover, Umesh, to get her business. However, when a clumsy local inspector and a few amateur crooks get involved, there are too many cooks in the kitchen, which threatens to taint the soup.
