Dynasty is preparing for a spectacular farewell.
The series’ penultimate episode began tying up loose ends for several of the characters, but what would Dynasty be without a splash of drama? We can anticipate that the series will conclude with a bang.
Fallon and Liam held a baby shower for their surrogate Stacy, who was named a formal member of the Carrington family and accidentally announced that they are expecting a girl. As Stacy appears to be set to give birth, it’s evident that the next season finale will close with the family of three happy together. I honestly expected her to give birth while she was being feted at the shower.
Fallon and Alexis shared a romantic moment, and wow, have they gone a long way from their first pool battle. It’s good to see Alexis do something kind for her daughter, even if it was a little too much for her.
Stacy also challenged Adam about carrying atropine in his suitcase, concluding that he’s a total monster. Because Adam is a loose cannon, I’m pleased she notified someone about his activities before sharing her theory with him. He’s so unpredictable, and when put on the spot and intimidated, you never know what he’ll do. Stacy, on the other hand, appears to be a relatively well-organized person, so she likely recognized how much danger she was in when Adam poisoned her, which led to her choice to call in reinforcements when she confronted him.
And I love how Cristal is embracing her role as the lady of the manor. Cristal is no longer letting people—mostly Blake—walk all over her; she is pushing people out, employing new employees (she should definitely check references first), and standing up to Blake when he says things like “end of the conversation.”
Blake is still Blake at the end of the day, but he’s made some significant personal growth and development steps that ought to be recognized. When his PPA plane went dark, he called out to Colby, and while things were difficult at first because he didn’t trust Colby enough to give him complete control, he recognized that he needed to put his ego aside for the greater good. It’s a watershed moment for Blake—I never expected to hear him apologize to Colby, let alone confess he was wrong.
Colby, on the other hand, remained firm. He assisted Blake in locating the plane’s whereabouts while admitting that they couldn’t repair a damaged relationship overnight… but it was a start. Like Alexis and Fallon, these two have come a long way. And the reality is that they operate pretty well together, something they probably don’t want to admit.
I wasn’t sure why the authors inserted a new mystery with one of PPA’s planes while attempting to wrap things up, but it all became evident in those closing minutes when Blake received the word that the confidential manifest had been disclosed and Dex was one of the financiers on board. Alexis was probably so preoccupied with preparing the baby shower that she didn’t notice Dex wasn’t texting back.
I hope Dex survives the hardship for Alexis’ sake. She’s grown a better person as a result of her friendship with him, and while his appearances have been few and far between, he constantly encourages Alexis to admit her mistakes and do better in the future. It’s also good to see her in a happy and healthy relationship for a change. The last episode’s logline also mentions Blake and Alexis teaming up to embark on a rescue mission together, which sounds ridiculous but also highly entertaining. Grant Show and Elaine Hendrix scenes were robbed from us!
Culhane, speaking of someone who deserves a nice mate, is engaged! “It’s about damn time,” as Lizzo put it. Culhane definitely has the funds for a spectacular proposal, but given his and Nina’s film meet-cute, what he prepared was flawless. I’m not sure if we’ll see him walk down the aisle in the finale, but I’m satisfied knowing that Culhane is getting his happily ever after and leaving his ties to the Carrington family in the dust.
It’s not ideal for Sammy, who wanted to extend his hotel to another location in Atlanta, and I’m not sure why Culhane can’t just travel back and forth from LA to assist manage the endeavor, but honestly, Culhane has sacrificed so much for others that it’s about time he prioritized himself and his goals.
With the threat of losing his best friend and sidekick (an unexpected but fantastic development in the previous season), Sammy is forced to take stock of his life and dig deep when it comes to his future. Sammy recognized he wasn’t really “in” with Ryan after witnessing Culhane’s proposal, and neither of them deserved that type of love. If anyone on this show deserves to be happy more than Culhane and Alexis, it’s Sammy!
Unfortunately, Colby hasn’t found his soulmate with whom to rule the world, as he recently discovered that Gemma, the woman he met at the bachelor auction, was most likely responsible for taking his discs with company codes on them. And Gemma works for Colby’s main competitor, Richard Payne, CEO of Plenexia, so this may be disastrous for Colby Co.
Colby wouldn’t have known if it hadn’t been for the beginnings of a torrid affair between Dom and her former bodyguard. Dom, like most of the characters on this show, hasn’t had the finest relationship experiences, so I’m hoping this is the one she doesn’t let slide away. They form an adorable couple.
Of course, not everyone deserves a happy ending… like Adam. We’ve seen him get away with doing heinous things to the people he claims to love for far too long. It’s tedious to see him get away with no real consequences for his actions—and no, being tossed out of the manor doesn’t count.
But Graham putting Adam into the trunk and pledging to make him pay is the kind of plot twist I enjoy. Please, please, please let Graham work for Steven because if we don’t see Steven in this final episode, we march at dawn, Dynasty lovers.
The series has never shied away from a face swap, so might Graham be Steven with a new face? Is he someone Steven met while imprisoned abroad? In any case, Graham seemed to take a liking to Sam, as if he were protecting him. And, if Steven’s reappearance is a possibility in the finale, perhaps this is why Sam could never commit to anyone else. Steven was always his soulmate!
I only hope Adam finally finds his match, whoever Graham is. It’s entertaining to watch because Adam clearly does not want a taste of his own medicine. And he’s on his own since no one will go looking for him now that he’s burned nearly every bridge possible.
Graham wasn’t the only newcomer to arrive at the manor ready to sow havoc, which makes you wonder if anyone else needs a key to the house’s rotating door. Florence, Amanda’s uh “friend” from London, came knocking just as Amanda and Kirby appeared to be regaining their footing and establishing that there is a future for them even if they don’t know what it means.
Kirby appeared to be threatened, whilst Florence and Amanda appeared to have a lot of unfinished business to resolve. Is she coming to seek reconciliation? Or will a new chance entice Amanda to return to London?

Finally, Fallon has begun what will be known as her final and ultimate feud with Ellen, a board member who has adopted all of her tricks and is using them against her. Ellen’s deception is quite astounding, but then again, she learned from the greatest.
Fallon, on the other hand, is not one to be outplayed. She is not intimidated, and she will not lose the climate-positive enterprise she is building for her daughter to someone whose motives are beyond dispute. She’ll come in swinging, and I’d be scared if I were Ellen.
As for Liam, I’m curious to see how he’ll get himself out of this problem. Can he live with himself after paying off his mentor’s nephew to keep quiet? Or will he confess for his daughter to have a father she can be proud of? My intuition tells me it’ll be the latter.
