Ajith Kumar (Thala) is a Tamil cinema actor and car racer born in Hyderabad as the middle child to a Tamil father and a Sindhi mother. He has appeared in numerous Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. He does, however, have deep ties to Tamil culture and society, having grown up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

In 1999, Ajith began dating his Amarkalam co-star Shalini. They married in Chennai in 2000. Anoushka Kumar, the couple’s first child, was born on January 3, 2008. Their second child, a son, was born on March 2, 2015. Ajith is an avid car racer who has competed in various events, including the Formula 2 Championship, the 2003 Formula Asia BMW Championship, and other races abroad.

Ajith began his cinematic career at the age of 21 in the Telugu film Prema Pustagam in 1992. Ajith played Shahrukh Khan’s brother in the commercially unsuccessful historical film Asoka in 2001. Ajith was named one of Forbes India’s Top 100 Celebrities in 2014.
