Sai Pallavi featured as Bhanumati in the 2017 Telugu comedy film by Sekhar Kammula. The film stars Varun Tej alongside Pallavi in the lead roles. Bhanumati is a strong-minded village girl and the younger sister of Renuka, whereas Varun (Tej) is an NRI from the US. The plot of the movie revolves around a love-hate relationship between Bhanumati and Tej. The film was a huge commercial success and grossed over Rs. 90 crore. It bagged four Filmfare awards. 

Athiran:

Pallavi was featured in the 2019 Malayalam psychological thriller by Vivek as Nithya. The film stars Fahadh Faasil and Lakshmi. It is said to be loosely based on the 2014 movie Stonehearst Asylum. The movie is set in 1967. The movie starts with a bone-chilling scene showing Lakshmi (Shanti Krishna) witnessing Nithya playing with a piece of thread while being surrounded by the dead bodies of her family members. It appears in the opening scene that Nithya is behind all these murders. The plot next shifts to a psychiatric asylum. Athiran also features original songs composed by debutant P. S. Jayhari.

Kali is a 2016 Malayalam-language action film by Sameer Thahir that features Dulquer Salmaan and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The critically acclaimed film was a huge commercial success. Dulquer Salmaan has played Siddharth, an angry young man with a violent past. Siddharth’s life changes after he is married to Anjali (Sai Pallavi). Anjali is often seen telling Siddharth to control his anger. The film was remade in Kannada as Kidi. It was also dubbed and released into Telugu as Hey Pillagada.

Maari 2: 

While Maari 2 failed to do well at the box office, the audience received well. The famous Rowdy Baby song helped the film get popular. It is a Tamil language action comedy film by Balaji Mohan that was released in 2018. The film features Dhanush and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The title role of Maari, a.k.a. Maariyappan, has been played by Dhanush. In contrast, Sai Pallavi featured in the movie as “Araathu” Aanandhi – Maari’s wife. The movie depicts two parallel storylines. Critics were not particularly impressed with the movie.

In contrast, Pallavi featured in the film as Pallavi, a.k.a Chinni, the love interest of Nani. The movie was a box office success as it went on to earn Rs. 70 crore.
