Minus One: New Chapter (Season 2) is not the same as Minus One. The first season was light and humorous, but the current chapter is deep, serious, and sincere. It depicts how the characters, Ria (Aisha Ahmed) and Varun (Ayush Mehra), have matured since their split and deal with life as they become older. It demonstrates the fragility of relationships and the errors people make even when they are madly in love.
The series, directed by Shubham Yogi, alternates between two timelines. The first tale depicts all of Ria and Varun’s happy occasions when they fell in love.
It depicts the breakdown of their relationship deftly and cleanly. The second timeline depicts them going on with their lives following the split. This season’s episodes are longer, but it’s definitely worth it since Aisha and Ayush are fantastic as Ria and Varun. They shine in each and every scene, and you won’t want to miss out on their connection.
Because the timeframe jumps between before and after their split, this is neither a sequel nor a prequel. They were profoundly in love before the breakup, and Varun was attempting to make it as a pilot on his own. He is ambitious and has great expectations of himself. Ria aspires to be a photographer but must work at a mundane job to make ends meet. They decide to rent an apartment together, and it’s incredibly lovely to see them move in and feel the surge of dopamine stream through their characters.
The second timeline is post-breakup when Varun did get his ideal job for a short time. He is now attempting to conceal the fact that he has been fired by the airline. Ria, on the other hand, has left her work to become a professional photographer. They are both in different phases of life, which prevents them from openly opening themselves to one another. Varun is seeing an air hostess, and she has no idea about his job condition.
The way things are going from here is really incredible. I was riveted to my screen for three hours, trying to figure out why they broke up. Nevertheless, much to my surprise, there was more than one concrete cause, and both characters played their cards exceptionally effectively to bring their relationship to an end. But, one of them was more to blame in this case.

Their confrontations begin at such a little scale that the audience may find their troubles amusing. Yet that is how every relationship’s difficulties begin. When left unchecked and uncommunicative, they grow into the elephant in the room. One unresolved disagreement contains a plethora of unresolved sentiments and quarrels. When issues are not choked at birth, they escalate in relationships (you would get this pun if you watch the series).
Despite their numerous problems, they still watch out for one other and wish each other the best. When Varun asks whether his mother may remain at Ria’s apartment a few months after their great fight, Ria displays sympathy. Anybody in her position would have turned down this request, but her character’s maturity is amazing.
Varun fights to accept that he will never be a pilot, but after one major rejection, he realizes it’s time to let his aspirations go. It’s as if his character is providing a shoulder to everyone watching the program who hasn’t been able to realize their aspirations and has had to settle for whatever life has to offer.
This season introduces new characters, including an appearance by Kusha Kapila as Nayantara.
It’s incredible how she gets so little screen time yet delivers such a great performance. Her character has depth, and her past is wonderful. It demonstrates how, when our loved ones fail to comprehend and sympathize with us, we seek consolation from strangers.
As it approaches the conclusion, the storyline is well-rounded and wraps up all loose ends. Varun does not get to fly, but he does train wannabe pilots how to do so. Ria achieves success as a photographer and enjoys her ideal life. A semi-happy ending, but one that is realistic because that is how life works. It’s a jumble of happy and sad conditions.
One negative: New Chapter lacks a fresh or original tale. Nonetheless, the way the events unfold is rather unique and carefully handled. One major message from this series is that with the proper person, any house can be transformed into a home.
