The story…

The epic tale of Tanjirou Kamado, a kind-hearted boy who returns home one day to discover his whole family slain by invading demons, is told in Demon Slayer, which is set in Taisho-era Japan. Worse, he discovers that his sister, Nezuko, has been transformed into a vicious demon. He resolves to become a top-class demon slayer and discover a means to return her to human form, swearing to revenge on her.

Tanjirou qualifies to join the Demon Slayer Corps after bone-breaking training by retired elite demon slayer Sakonji Urokodaki and meets fellow demon slayers who become his companions: the cowardly yet secretly skilled Zenitsu Agatsuma, and the fiery Inosuke Hashibira, a short-tempered boy raised by a family of boars. Tanjirou soon finds his enemy’s actual name, the mastermind behind his parents’ heinous murder: Muzan Kibutsuji, the first Demon King and progenitor of all demons.

Tanjirou learns of the Hashira, the Corps’ most elite demon slayers, as well as the existence of the Twelve Kizuki (blood moons), an organization of the toughest demons under Muzan’s leadership, as he eases into the Demon Slayer Corps’ world. Tanjirou is joined on his voyage by Nezuko, who appears to control her demonic need for human flesh and blood, and is even passionately protective of her brother and other humans. Some Hashira members oppose Tanjirou’s loyalty to his sister because they refuse to believe a demon ally like Nezuko could exist.

Season 1 of Demon Slayer aired from April to September of this year.

The blockbuster shonen anime series will return for a second season this year, following the huge success of its first season in 2019 and the 2020 feature film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train. Demon Slayer was turned into anime, and its 26-episode first season was aired in 2019. It was based on the extremely successful manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge. Its tale, about a young boy’s mission to save his sister during a horrific conflict between humans and demons, was expanded into a feature film called Mugen Train, released in 2020. It surpassed Spirited Away and Titanic to become Japan’s highest-grossing picture.

Rengoku, a Hashira member and one of the greatest Demon Slayers, is assigned to follow the trio – and with Tanjiro’s sister-turned-demon Nezuko in tow. The film’s events revolve around Tanjiro and the company’s attempts to take down the Lower One of the Twelve Moons, the demonic gang commanded by the original demon – and Tanjiro’s family killer – Muzan Kibutsuji. Following the dramatic events of Mugen Train and the conclusion of the Infinity Train tale, Tanjiro, the Hashira, and the Demon Slayer Corps will have to cope with the consequences of the film and with the rise of deadly new adversaries.

The party travels to Yoshiwara in the second season, as depicted in the trailer video, a town full of dazzling lights and evil ambitions. So, it’s fertile terrain for demons. With the Sound Hashira (Tengen Uzui) along for the ride, Tanjiro could cross up with an Upper Moon (Top Demons) or two.

The Second Season…

The anime’s second season, dubbed Yuukaku-hen (roughly, Red-Light District Arc), is set to continue up to where Mugen Train left off, adapting the Demon Slayer manga’s related stories. Tengen Uzui, a Hashira with a particular ability to command sound, prominently featured in a major image provided by the anime, will be a pivotal figure in Yuukaku-story. Hen’s The main characters head to Yoshiwara, Japan’s famous red-light district, with the senior demon slayer to track down a demon that has been terrorizing the region. Along the process, the second season promises to dig further into Hashira’s complex universe.
