SYNOPSIS OF SWEET GIRL
The whole story of Sweet Girl revolves around a devastated husband. He vows to bring justice to his wife’s death by taking revenge on the people responsible for his death. With this, he is also protecting his only left family, which was his only daughter. Like most action movies’ violent nature, they all need a protagonist with some justifiable reasons for going on a rampage or clear-cut villains easy to hate that deserve to meet a grim fate.
Sweet Girl begins in Pittsburgh with Amanda Cooper, who falls ill with a rare form of cancer. Ray Cooper, her husband, is told by a survival expert that a potentially life-saving drug can save Amanda. But the drug was pulled off the market days before her treatment was to begin. This was all due to the CEO of BioPrime, Simon Keeley, who was paying the manufacturer to delay the production. Even after watching him on a debate show, Ray Cooper calls him and threatens him that he will kill him if he does not reverse his decision.
But Simon didn’t take his threat seriously, due to which Amanda passes away soon. This incident leads to devastation in the lives of Ray and his daughter Rachel.
After six months, Ray gets a call from a journalist, Martin Bennet, who tells him that he has evidence of the crimes or criminal activities committed by BioPrime. Then they met on a subway and were unknowingly followed by Rachel and a hitman named Santos. Bennet was explaining everything, and before sharing any of the information, Santos stabbed him to death. Then as the train stops at the station, Santos stabs Ray and knocks out Rachel, leaving them on the platform to die.
Two years later, Rachel and Ray have been tracking all the movements of Simon. Then Ray poses as a waiter to infiltrate BioPrime’s charity auction to interrogate Simon, but Simon said that he knew nothing and tells him to go after the chairman of BioPrime, Vinod Shah. After a brutal fight that leaves one of the bodyguards of Simon’s dead, Ray strangulated him to death with a plastic bag.
Then Ray and Rachel hide in a motel outside the town. Rachel was concerned that her father has gone too far, then contacts FBI Agent Sarah Meeker and convinces her to look into BioPrime. The next time, two mercenaries broke into the motel, but Ray drove them to the death, leading to more tension between Rachel and Ray. Then Ray decides to follow Vinod, and Rachel helps him to trap Shah. Ray tries his best to interrogate Shah, but he refused to talk and was soon killed by Santos. Then, Rachel and Ray meet Santos at dinner. Santos agrees that he sympathizes with them, reveals that Morgan is the real employer, and tells Rachel to meet again soon.
After returning to the city, Ray is ambushed by the FBI and flees to the roof of a baseball stadium. Meeker tried to talk him down, but it is revealed that “Ray” is actually Rachel, and Ray has already died from his wounds at the subway. And Rachel was suffering from PSTD and dissociative identity disorder, devoted herself to finish his quest for vengeance. She jumps into the river but got unconscious and was put in an ambulance.
After breaking free and crashing the vehicle, she locates Morgan’s campaign office, where Santos was waiting for her. Despite him initially managing to subdue her by strangling and drowning her, Rachel got her strength back and stabbed Santos to death. Now she encounters Morgan and records her confession that she was bribed by Bio Prime for the government contracts. She ordered the hit on Bennet and Ray too. Rachel sends all the recordings to the FBI. She obtains a fake passport and exchanges her money for cryptocurrency, and boards a plane. This is how Sweet Girl ends.
