1. Criminal Justice
Criminal Justice is a Hindi TV show and drama on Hotstar starring big Bollywood actors such as Jackie Shroff, Pankaj Tripathi, and Vikrant Massey. The plot of the mystery television series is almost similar to that of HBO’s The Night Of. It also has a storyline in common with the first season of Criminal Justice, a BBC show premiered in 2008. As a consequence, this is a Hindi remake of both of those movies. The Hotstar version of the TV series tells Aditya (Vikrant Massey), a cab driver. He has a one-night stand with his passenger Sanaya (Madhurima Roy). He spends the night at her house but wakes up in a pool of her blood. Soon after, the cops blame Sanya’s murder on him, and it’s up to his lawyer, Madhav Mishra (Pankaj Tripathi), to get him acquitted.
2. Hostages
Hostages, an action thriller web series on Hotstar, is fascinating with a unique plot that revolves around a doctor whose family is taken hostage by four masked men. The most intriguing aspect is how she uses obstacles to her advantage. This Hotstar web series has two seasons, with 10 episodes in season one and 12 in season two. Tisca Chopra and co-star Ronit Roy have both done outstanding work in this film.
3. Special Ops
Special Ops is a Hindi intelligence thriller on Hotstar about a RAW agent (Kay Kay Menon) who claims a single terrorist is responsible for a series of terror attacks. He is, however, the subject of an official investigation over his excessive use of government funds. The series progresses as Menon reveals how he chose and trained a group of special operatives to bring down the anarchist behind some of the world’s most heinous terrorist attacks. The eight-part show is a little long, but Menon keeps the mood going and makes this an enjoyable watch.
4. Out of Love
Out of Love is a 5 Hotstar TV series focused on BBC One’s Doctor Foster. It stars Purab Kohli and Rasika Dugal in Meera and Akarsh, a husband and wife couple. The couple is seen to be happily married before Meera discovers a woman’s hair on Akarsh’s scarf. She begins to snoop around to see if Akarsh is having an affair with anyone. When she discovers that he is actually involved with another, she is thrown into confusion. She makes some wrong choices, only to be forced to choose between forgiving, forgetting, or arguing with her better half. The TV show is incredibly entertaining and will captivate you with its outstanding performances.
5. Aarya
This is the tale of a happy, well-to-do family in Rajasthan rocked by the untimely death of its patriarch (Chandrachur Singh). It is now up to the matriarch (Sushmita Sen) to take matters into her own hands and ensure that her family survives the drug war that has been thrust upon them. She has lost faith in everyone, even her closest friends. Will she and her children survive? One of Hotstar’s best original productions is the nine-part thriller sequence. Yes, it can be a little OTT at times, but watch it for Sushmita Sen’s huge acting comeback.

6. The Leftovers
This is a mysterious display based on Tom Perrota’s novel The Leftovers. It is a supernatural thriller. A portion of the world’s population vanishes, and those left behind struggle to restore their lives. Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, and Amy Brenneman are the star of this series. The Leftovers has three seasons and a total of 28 episodes.
7. PariWar
Do you want to ease the tension? Then you should absolutely watch PariWar on Disney Plus Hotstar. The comedy series revolves around a group of squabbling family members who assemble in their hometown in the hopes of inheriting a lucrative plot of land. They have no idea that the inheritance is a ruse devised by the family patriarch to reunite them and settle their minor disagreements.
8. City of Dreams
Nagesh Kukunoor produced this Hindi political drama on Hotstar, one of the best shows to watch on this list. The TV show’s plot revolves around a fictitious political family in Mumbai. An assassination attempt is made on the father, one of the most powerful figures in this family. A power struggle between his daughter and son ensues, blurring the lines between moral and immoral. Priya Bapat and Siddharth Chandekar, two lesser-known actors, give outstanding performances in the show. Meanwhile, it casts well-known TV actors in key roles such as Atul Kulkarni, Sachin Pilgaonkar, and Eijaz Khan.
9. Criminal Justice: behind closed doors
Criminal Justice, Hotstar’s wildly successful courtroom drama, will return with a new season in 2020. It’s a brand new series, not the second season of the previous show of the same name. Behind Closed Doors is about a young woman named Anuradha Chopra who is on trial for stabbing her seemingly perfect lawyer husband. Many people believe her case is closed, but years of domestic violence are behind her desperate act of self-preservation. This is a must-see for fans of the legal genre, starring Pankaj Tripathi and Kirti Kulhari in the lead roles.
10. Girls
Girls are about three friends in their early twenties trying to find out what life has in store for them. They try to find out what they want but are unsure of themselves. There are six seasons in all, with a total of 62 episodes. Lina Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and many others appear in it.
